  2. Looks like a work in progress. If you look at the wall behind it, there seems to be no trim yet. So the grip tape might be put on later!

  3. Actually, they are stairs in a skateboard building school in Canada:

    "The Roarockit Skateboard Company runs a school in Leaside, East York (Toronto, Canada), teaching their method of building skateboard decks using a Thin Air Press (vacuum bagging system), and these stairs lead down to the basement.
    The builder says "The aluminum beam is a solid billet of aluminum and the decks were custom made with concave only on one edge. You should see the look on our students faces when they make a trip to the basement."
